Inspiration

When it comes to redecorating, Pinterest is one of our favourite sources of inspiration. But recreating the look is often hard, as we struggle to uncover where we can buy the products and, more importantly, if they fall within our budget. To combat the problem, we've recreated some of Pinterest's most popular looks, at affordable prices. Whether you'd prefer a warm, comforting theme or something fresh and fun, we'll show you how to get the look with our handy tooltips.

Moroccan

With Moroccan-style interior design becoming increasingly popular across the world thanks to its versatility, comfort and striking visual aesthetic, it can be difficult to know where to start incorporating it into your home. Because each piece is often very different to your existing decor, you may have to try a few things out to see how they look before making any permanent decisions.

Take inspiration from our example room, modelled after contemporary Moroccan homes, as a starting point.

French

French style is one of the most revered in the world, especially when it comes to interior design. From chic Parisian glamour to the whitewashed rusticity of country farmhouses, houses all over the world have stolen from French décor.

This room takes inspiration from classic Paris apartments, featuring vintage style and comfort in equal measure.

Italian

For our Italian room we’ve taken inspiration from Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita to create a classic Sixties-style city apartment living room.

Chic but comfortable, this room features trademark Italian gilt and stylish, functional furniture in a neutral colour scheme.

Nordic

This contemporary, Scandinavian-inspired look will bring a touch of class to your home, and is simple to replicate.

White walls and furnishing are the focal point. By interspersing a little colour, along with fluffy pillows and rugs, your room will look spacious, without compromising on warmth.

Industrial Loft

To recreate this rustic loft theme, opt for greys and browns on walls and furnishings. Add authenticity by displaying old sports equipment throughout the room.

Hand-me-down furniture is a great way to get the look – especially if you're on a budget. Check out local second hand stores and keep an eye out for bits and bobs that friends or family are getting rid of.

Modern Jungle

Your lounge will be oozing freshness and tranquillity after you recreate this modern jungle theme.

To get the look, pick up plenty of leafy plants and opt for garden-green tones, especially within fundamental furnishings, like your sofa.

Top it off with tropical fruit ornaments and you'll be King or Queen of the jungle in no time.

City Chic

You don't need to own a penthouse suite to recreate this city chic look.

Choose bright monochrome colours, like white and ivory, to let lots of light into your room.

Then, add dashes of colour by lining your sofa with cushions and coating the wall with pictures of your friends and family.

Nordic Blue

For a fresh feeling, all year round, replicate this seaside-cabin look.

Walls of white, interspersed with dashes of lively colour - such as the blue in the sofa - are the key to this theme.

Quirky decorative items and artwork, along with white ornaments and black and white cushions, will complete the look.

Swedish Peach

Add a timely touch of warmth to this modern theme, by interspersing peach and copper tones throughout the room.

Pearl patterned pillows are a great way to brighten up your sofa, whilst copper coloured ornaments will provide the perfect contrast to white walls and light furnishings.

Urban Elegance

For a truly homely feel in your living room, the key is comfort.

When it comes to cushions, think fluffy and floral; adding a soft rug is even better.

Complete the look with decorative animals, your favourite books and comfy poufs.

Monochrome Muse

This simple, yet modern, look oozes expense and sophistication.

The colour theme is simple; choose bold, statement furnishings in black or white. When it comes to pictures, opt for many, in monochrome.

Use tiny, green plants to intersperse well placed dashes of colour.

Coastal Cottage

Your choice of colour palette should include amongst others fresh whites and pastel blues, whitewashing or a rustic weathered appearance really adds to the look and creates the wow factor with this theme and the added bonus is that it makes the decorating and painting so much easier!

Thrift shops, market stalls, architectural salvage and car boot sales are a great source for the furniture and ornaments to fill your coastal cottage themed room.

A family outing to the seaside is also a great way to get ideas and inspiration for your Coastal Cottage theme and chances are you will find one or two nautical themed shops in the back streets around the seaside that are bristling with ideas.
