5 Simple Ways to Decorate Your Caravan

The summer holidays are in full swing, which means it’s time to dust off the caravan and (attempt to) take advantage of the British summertime.
From buying new furniture, to adding the finishing touches, if your caravan is looking a little worn, don’t worry, there are some simple things you can do to perk it up.

1. APPLY A COAT OF PAINT
Sometimes, all it takes to spruce up your caravan is a lick of paint.
If you’ve recently redecorated your house, why not use leftover paint to brighten and modernise your temporary summer home?

Light colours will help the space look bigger, but don’t be afraid to add a splash of colour for character.

2. UPDATE YOUR FURNITURE
A shabby sofa or worn kitchen can set your caravan back decades – and make it a less enjoyable place to spend time.
You don’t have to spend a fortune on expensive furnishing. Sofa beds come at reasonable prices; alternatively, why not opt for a seat with storage beneath it to help you save space?
Make the most of the available space but choosing items that can fold away. This way you can pick and choose when to have them on show, or use tables and chairs outside (weather permitting!)

3. BUY NEW CURTAINS
It’s unbelievable the difference a new set of curtains can make to a room. Pick something modern and in one colour, to make the space look bigger.
If you don’t fancy forking out for new curtains, simply try washing your existing ones to brighten them up.

4. ADD A RUG
A rug is a great way to add character to your caravan and make it feel homely. It’s also a good way to cover up any stains or worn areas of carpet if you don’t have the funds to replace them.
Whether you use a rug from home, or buy one especially for the caravan, this little touch could make a huge difference.

5. PUT IN THE FINAL TOUCHES
Updating your furniture and repainting the space are great, but it’s the personal touches that will bring comfort to your caravan.
This doesn’t have to cost a fortune; try opting for fairy-lights, bunting or simply some pictures and posters. Even a bunch of flowers will help to brighten the place – unless you have hay fever, of course!

Regardless of your budget, follow the tips above and your caravan will soon be looking refreshed and ready for the summer. The weather, however, might not be so sunny!
